Wolf Family Vineyards offers three estate grown wines in artisanal quantities hand made by Karen Culler in the small winery and cave on the estate: Cabernet Sauvignon, a Cabernet Franc Blend and Sauvignon Blanc. Phaedrus, an alternate label, is crafted to be immediately drinkable. A fortuitous combination of the demanding standards of the winemaker and the family’s “no compromises” philosophy results in wine that pleases the collector’s long term palate. Total winery production varies from 800 to 1000 cases per year.

2006 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2006 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is compelling with its dense dark purple color with intriguing aromas of black plums, cardamom, baked cherry, anise, tar and forest floor. Brooding flavors of cassis, plum, licorice, toast and blackberry in a powerfully extracted yet satiny mouthfeel. Balanced, polished, with years of gifts to reveal. The cornerstone of Wolf Family Vineyards, this wine is always 100% Estate Cabernet Sauvignon. 430 cases produced.

2006 Estate Cabernet Franc

The Cabernet Franc vineyard was planted in the late 1970s and remains the last parcel from that era on the Wolf Family Estate in St. Helena. A treasured vineyard for the history it represents; it is the source of Wolf Family Vineyards’ first wine produced in 1997. From a winemaking perspective, the vines produce small berries and loose clusters leading to exceptional density and concentration. The 2006 Cabernet Franc offers black fruit aromas with a hint of tobacco & cedar. Layers of black fruit, cassis and forest floor are complimented by big, juicy and well balanced tannins. 95% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 122 cases produced.

2008 Estate Sauvignon Blanc, Tres Hermanos

From the long, narrow sloping vineyard that spans the property, the Sauvignon Blanc is a blend of the Musque Clone and the Sauvignon Blanc Clone 1. Fermented in small stainless steel barrels and a single new barrel, the wine is aged on the lees to encourage a hint of creamy texture to balance the fresh, crisp flavors. 144 cases produced.

2007 Phaedrus Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley

The Phaedrus Vineyard is comprised of Malbec, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc and planted in the year 2000 in the westernmost part of our estate on a rocky bench. Each varietal inhabits only a few vine rows and never exceeds more than a ton of grapes. The 2007 Phaedrus Cabernet Sauvignon utilizes this "spice box". Malbec offers spice and black cherry aromatics. Petite Verdot plumps the wine with a lush, juicy mid palate. Cabernet Franc is loaded with floral and fruit aromatics, along with a luscious mouthfeel. All of which are supported by the richly textured foundation of Cabernet Sauvignon. A complex yet forward wine that can be consumed now or will age well over the next 5 years. 524 cases produced.

Olive Oil

The estate is host to Spanish and Italian varieties of different ages. The youngest trees which were planted in 2000 are located on the western slope of the Mayacamas Range where they enjoy great morning and mid-day sun exposure, excellent drainage and rocky alluvial soil. The mature trees which are estimated to be 30 years old, border both the southern and northern edges of the property.

2008 Inglewood Estate Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Our Estate Grown Extra Virgin Olive Oil from the 2008 harvest is made from Mission, Sevillano and Manzanillo olives. Possessing brisk layers of zesty, pungent flavors, it is perfect for salads, drizzling and dipping with crusty bread. 20 cases produced. End of Literature
